imgWe are a large community of singers from the greater Gardner area from Athol to -Woburn- and points in between! Our members come from every walk of life - and every age: from retired folks to high school students. We welcome all who enjoy singing. We do NOT audition. Ages welcome from 14 to ??? The Greater Gardner Community Choir has been actively singing since 1996. In late 2008, we learned that the choir was cut from the budget of Mt. Wachusett Community College. We decided that the group must continue, moved our rehearsals to Bethany Baptist and we now have 501(c)(3) status.

imgWe sing two or more concerts a year; one in December, featuring Christmas and winter songs, and one in the spring. During our history we have sung with the Thayer Symphony Orchestra and opened for Rockapella. We sang with the Nataniel Dett Chorale in early 2006. Our Chamber Choir has sung with Cantus. We sang Rutter's Requiem in April 2009 with the support of Bethany Bapist Church and the Church of the Holy Rosary in Gardner. In December 2009, we sang Handel's Messiah at two venues - Starrett Memorial Church (Athol) and the First Congregational Church of Gardner (Gardner). Spring 2010 we sang a program of spirituals including John Rutter's 'Feel the Spirit' (with the Nashua Symphony Chorus). In December 2010, we performed Vivaldi's Gloria in D with a string ensemble to a full house!

We rehearse at Bethany Baptist Church, 74 Ryan Street in Gardner MA (directions) onimg Tuesday evenings at 7 PM. First rehearsal for the Winter 2017 season is September 19, 2017.

We DO NOT AUDITION! But our director may ask you to sing so she can verify your range placement. If you like to sing, please stop by. However, we WILL NOT ACCEPT new members after the third rehearsal.

The cost to join the group this semester is $30/plus cost of music. The music cost is $30 this semester unless you have a copy of Rutter's Gloria. Members are encouraged to participate in fundraising activities which are credited to the members. At present, concert attire is black tops, black bottoms for ladies; guys are long sleeve white dress shirt, black pants and a solid dark color tie (not bow ties).
